About us
Second Chance Church began in a room of the house of our brothers Jose and Rocio Jasso at 1835 W. Jefferson, in Brownsville, Texas 78520 on Sunday June 26, 2005 and later grew into a group. We moved to a lot given to us by one of our brothers Juan and Aurora Guerra behind their home. We put chairs and a pulpit and a sound system. Later our Lord Jesus allowed us to rent a local place thanks to the love offerings that our brothers had given, and they equipped us with microphones and a system, and musical instruments on behalf of my brother in Christ Eddie Atkinson. Later Jose and Rocio Jasso loaned us chairs and tables and with the grace of God we had generous offerings and we were able to buy our own musical instruments and a sound system and new chairs, and our Lord Jesus continues providing what is necessary. But what really we need is a New temple, for which we continue praying and trusting in the Lord that he will provide it.
Our church began with an average of 25-28 people. I Rene Atkinson directed the praise and preached, but later fellow brothers along with my daughter Debbie Atkinson, took the direction of the praise and I dedicated myself to the preaching. We didn't have Sunday school but now we have teachers for Sunday school and we are equipping more leaders to expand the ministry. |
